Reviewing images and results

The viewer keeps scientific results attached to the image and target that produced them.

  • Image identity, session, target level, acquisition time, scale, and orientation
  • Acquisition settings and the calibration snapshot associated with the exposure
  • Motion trajectories, CTF fits, quality metrics, ice or contamination estimates
  • Target and particle overlays with acceptance, rejection, and provenance information
  • Processing job, workflow revision, parameters, logs, warnings, and output artifacts

Compare automated overlays with the underlying image, inspect outliers rather than only averages, and use consistent display scaling when comparing sessions. A visually plausible overlay does not by itself validate the underlying scientific result.

Record consequential exclusions or overrides so later users can distinguish an operator decision from an automated one.
